How to get to The Isle of Arran:

You will need to book your car well in advance with www.calmac.co.uk  Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd or telephone 08705 650000.   The main ferry terminal for Arran is Ardrossan, North Ayrshire, and the main ferry terminal on Arran is Brodick. You should arrive at the ferry terminal  30 minutes  before  the ferry departure time.

If on foot, train connections are good.  From Glasgow Central, take the Ardrossan Harbour train (not Ardrossan Town), it delivers you to the Calmac Ferry Terminal in time to board the Ferry. 

Fly/drive.  Fly to Glasgow or Prestwick Airports, hire a car and drive to Ardrossan, again you will need to book car and passengers well in advance (see Calmac’s details above).

Directions to Flaxmill:

Turn left at Brodick Pier onto A841, stay on this road through Lamlash, Whiting Bay and Dippen, pass through Kilmory and down the steep hill into Lagg.  Take RIGHT turn (near shop) before bridge and phone box, drive past the small white cottage on left.  The next cottage is FLAX MILL COTTAGE.
