Welcome to Flaxmill Cottage
A
delightful, recently restored, Scottish slate and stone building, attached
to Kilmory House which was once a Flax Mill circa 1651 then the property of
The Duke of Montrose.
Flax Mill
Cottage nestles in the picturesque tranquil valley and hamlet of Lagg,
beside Kilmory Water, at the southend of The Isle of Arran, North Ayrshire,
Scotland.
Just over
Kilmory Water is Lagg Inn, the oldest on the Island circa 1751, reached by a
short walk about 300 metres across the bridge over the river.
The Isle of
Arran is frequently called Scotland in miniature, rolling lowlands at the
southend, mountainous at the northend. It is a wonderful island to explore
for country lovers, walkers, bird watchers, photographers and golfers.
Visitors always “haste ye back”!
